Sea of Words Literary Contest 

The European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) have the pleasure to announce the launch of the Third Edition of the Sea of Words Literary Competition.

We encourage the production of short stories that portray the different realities of the Euro-Mediterranean region from the point of view of the young people who live there, through the organisation of a Euro-Med short story competition.

This year, the theme is justice, equality and inclusion in the Mediterranean and in Europe in line with the objectives of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. 

Applicants must be under 30 years of age and residents in one of the forty three countries of the Union for the Mediterranean, and write in one of the languages of the countries of the Union for the Mediterranean.

The short-stories should be submitted by e-mail before midnight (Spain Local Time) 15 September 2010.

Communication about International Contest 'Azores Combo Art Camp'

Azores Combo is launching the 2nd edition of its International Contest 'Azores Combo Art Camp' organised by us, Mala Cooperativa Cultural CRL.

The contest's goal is to promote young people's creativity through combining traditional techniques with contemporary innovation. The pieces created can be personal creations or reinterpretations of traditional wicker pieces.

Azores Combo believes in young people's imagination and creativity to impulse a new dynamic and modernise this tradition.

Call for papers for the Symposium on

“Exploring Mobility around the Mediterranean”

4-6 February 2011

The Arab Education Forum – Safar fund and the Fonds Roberto Cimetta are preparing for a Symposium as part of their joint Istikshaf project exploring mobility around the Mediterranean, partially funded by the Anna Lindh Foundation. This Symposium will be held in Alexandria – Egypt in cooperation with the International Association for Creation and Training (I-act), in the context of the Dialog Program-Creative Forum for Independent Theatre Groups (Europe-Mediterranean) which will be held from the 1st to the 10th of February 2011.
