New findings unveiled at 43 Country Dialogue Forum in Barcelona underline the support of people and civil society of the Region in favour of a Union for the Mediterranean.

5th March 2010: In the city of Barcelona, where the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership was founded in 1995 and which, from today, is home to the new Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, 1000 civil society from the 43 Partner Countries gathered for the launch of the first Anna Lindh Forum for intercultural dialogue.

43 COUNTRIES TOGETHER FOR DIALOGUE

More than 800 civil society representatives from all forty-three countries of the Union for the Mediterranean are confirmed for the international launch of the very first Anna Lindh Forum.

The Anna Lindh Forum for Intercultural Dialogue will commence this Thursday evening, at 17.00, at Barcelona˙s International Convention Forum, with the collective participation of civil society representatives from the two shores of the Mediterranean, as well as leading international dialogue institutions and the Ambassadors of the 43 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).

217 Network representatives selected to participate in the Forum

The Anna Lindh Foundation˙s Headquarters concluded the selection process of the first Call to Participation. 217 member organisations were selected among the 681 received applications, and will be supported to participate by the Anna Lindh Foundation and its partners.

We are proud to announce that Urban Culture Foundation was one of the selected member organizations.

IEMedThe European Institute for the Mediterranean (IEMed), the ALF Spanish Head of Network, is the ALF main partner for the organization of the Forum. Both for logistic and financial support, ALF and IEMed collaborate with other partners. Obviously, the Anna Lindh Foundation will also invite its institutional partners such as, among others, EU institutions and other Euro-Med Platforms.

The Anna Lindh Forum will be hosted from the 4th to 7th March 2010 at Barcelona˙s Forum of the CCIB International Conventions Centre, with a programme centred on two main pillars: the Agora and the Medina.
